Experimental investigation of burning characteristics of porous combustible soaked in liquid oxidizer

Experimental investigations of burning characteristics a tested specimen consisting polyethylene foam soaked in 100 wt% hydrogen peroxide are made. All experiments carried out large volume chamber, which newly introduced our previous work at an initial pressure range from p = 0.1 to 0.35 MPa absolute with various fuel porosity ε 0.6 0.9, corresponds global equivalence ratios φ 0.51 3.8. Temperature measurements using R-type thermocouple embedded into the then conducted investigate thermal structure (e.g., profiles temperature and gradients surface temperature) for deep understandings process. Following forced ignition top specimen, steady successive-burning process is successfully observed all conditions studied this work. Burning rates (a rate moves downward) measured by carefully tracking adopting image processing software. Findings show that overall 1 3.2 mm/s obtained influenced porosity.
